General description:

High Solids Fast dry alkyd primer is based on a blend of fast drying resins containing a complex Zn-Phosphate antirust pigment to provide excellent corrosion resistance on all type of
ferrous substrates. It is ideal for structural steel and other interior or exterior metal surfaces.

Surface preparation:

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants.

Remove oil or grease with thinner soaked rags, changing rags frequently.

Rusted areas must be scraped with a steel wire brush or sandblasted.

A minimum SSPC-SP2 Hand Tool Cleaning is required. For better results SSPC-SP3 is recommended.

However, SSPC-SP6 Commercial Blast Cleaning will provide excellent product performance.

Previously Painted Surfaces: Must be dulled by sanding. Loose paint must be removed.

Application procedures:

Mix well and dilute if necessary with 5 to 10% #2110 thinner For airless or air assisted spray, use as is.

Airless Spray: Speeflo Atlas 30:1 with tip sizes .013″ – .015″ or equivalent
H.V.L.P.: Binks Model Mach 1 94 x 97AP (pressure) or equivalent
Conventional: Binks Model 95GUN 63CSS X 63PB (pressure) or equivalent
Brush or Roller: Brushing is limited to small areas or touch-up

Features:

Fast dry time. Excellent adhesion. Smooth matt finish with good hiding properties. Free from heavy metals. Passes the following tests with minor film deterioration. 168 hours Salt Spray ASTM B-117 500 hours Humidity Cabinet ASTM D4585 Complies with CISC/PMAC Standards #1-73A and 2-75

Reduction solvent:

VM+P Naphtha #2105 / 5 -10 % per volume if required

Cleaning:

VM+P Naphtha #2105

Storage:

Cool, dry, secure location.

Maximum 1 year / Original sealed containers

Limitations et précautions:

Apply when the ambiant temperature is between 10oC and 30oC.

Do not apply on cold, wet or hot surfaces.
Do not apply at high humidity levels.
Keep away from ignition sources.
Mix well before using.
Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use.
