Fast Dry Alkyd Primer – Grey 3138

Description:

Fast dry alkyd type primer for metal surfacesis containing anti-corrosive pigments designed to provide superior corrosion resistance to metal surfaces and metal primers from the 31XX line.

Ideal for:

Interior and exterior ferrous substrates, sheet metal and structural steel

Surface preparation:

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants. Remove oil and grease with thinner soaked rags, changing rags frequently. Rusted areas must be scraped with a steel wire brush or sandblast. Previously painted surfaces must be dulled by sanding. Loose paint must be removed. Apply primer on small area to make sure old paint does not lift.

Application procedures:

Brush, Roll or Conventional Spray

Mix well and dilute if necessary with 5 to 10% VM&P Naphta

For airless or air assisted spray, use as is.

Conventional: Binks Model 95GUN 63CSS X 63PB (pressure) or equivalent

Features:

Fast dry . Excellent adhesion. Smooth matt finish with good hiding properties. Free from heavy metals.

Meets CISC/PMAC Standards #1-73A and 2-75

Reduction solvent: 

VM+P Naphtha

Cleaning: 

VM+P Naphtha or Xylene

Storage: 

Cool and dry, secure location.

Maximum 1 year / Original sealed containers

Limitations and precautions:

Mix well before using. Keep containers sealed when not in use.
Apply when the ambiant temperature is between 10oC and 30oC.
Do not apply on cold, wet or hot surfaces.
Do not apply at high humidity . Keep away from ignition sources.
